Ever see a scientific prediction..and later proven wrong?
It's part of the process to get after the truth.
What about so-called prophets, like Nostradamus.
Is he/they wrong?
I know there's a difference between science and prophets predicting...
But as intriguing as this idea of a human prophet predicting the future,
Good 'ole Damus was wrong.
Let me share a true story how I know this to be true...
Nostradamus wrote many pages of so-called prophecy
in the format of cryptic stanzas called "quatrains"
In one of his predictive quatrains,
scholars believe his use of the word "Hisler"
was a prediction of the rise of "Hitler"
500 years before Hitler's birth.
His quatrains were obscure, all his writings were,
however there was one quatrain, where he spelled out
the exact year in which a predicted
total cosmic apocalypse was to take place.
At the time I learned about this prophecy
I was in the Navy in stationed in San Diego in 1983. On board ship we watched
a 16mm documentary on Nostradamus. Orsen Wells narrated.
Wells deep penetrating voice mouthed the year
this devastation of the Earth was predicted to take place...in 1988.
So I waited and 5 years and in 1988 nothing happened.
No earthquake, no comet, nothing.
So if human prophets can be wrong and scientists can be wrong.
Who knows the future?
